Calligraphed Invitations & Announcements

Invitations set the tone for your wedding or event, and hand lettering/calligraphy lends a quality--and makes a statement--impossible to achieve with a computer font. The "master" is created with calligraphy, plus illustration if desired, from which multiple copies are then printed.

I am currently not accepting new commissions for invitations.

Modernized Italic

Invitation and response card lettered with my own unique calligraphy style, a modern, casual italic, with lots of movement, and an almost oriental flair. Printed on a white confetti card stock, with flecks of color througout.

This invitation can be seen in Wedding Invitations, Announcements, Placecards and More: A Bride's Guide to Simple Calligraphy, by Bette Matthews (Rockport Publishers, 2001).

Spencerian Script

An elegant pointed pen calligraphy script, appropriate for a more formal occasion, evocative of days gone by.

Illustrated Baby Announcement Suite

Printed in various shades of blue, I lettered this delightful baby announcement in a combination of calligraphy styles: Italic & humanist bookhand (English), and Rolit (Hebrew).

The client's one request was that the design include a whale (Jonah's whale, of course), and that the whale be "cute." Whales are not inherently "cute" creatures, and I enjoyed the challenge of drawing a "cute" whale, which I then digitized in Adobe Illustrator.
